Teaching
is to excite and inform. To present innovative paths and openings for
students to explore their place in history and assist them in creating
a greater vision. It is a necessity to open a larger understanding and
evoke compassion for this universe. Through the act of play, experimentation,
conceptualization, critical investigation and formulation new avenues
of understanding are created and a greater self-awareness is realized.
The act of becoming aware of our own gesture, through the aesthetic
experience, allows for a greater comprehension of how we interact and
live in this visual culture. By teaching through the act of art making
and cross-disciplinary understanding, we can connect with that part
of our selves which moves, informs and lives in dimensional space.
